Hello

Until the day I have no control over the"about me"section, I'll write my own info, and in the first person. My ego isn't big enough to refer to myself as "Chuck" because I am only me.

A little about myself:

With radio coursing through my veins, it was only inevitable that I would be in broadcasting.

My biological great-grandfather, Mark F. Ethridge, was the first 'Radio Czar' appointed by Roosevelt in 1938.

My biological grandfather "Bud" Abbott and grandmother Mary Snow Ethridge Abbott were TV and radio personalities.

They later owned WWGP and started WFJA in Sanford, North Carolina.

Radio broadcasting is in my DNA.

I've worked in radio since college, on and off over the years, because full-time work in radio is sometimes hard to find.

As Fletch said about himself, "I used to be a journalist of some repute." I think that works for me, too.

Having worked in print journalism for half a dozen publications, one day I decided I was sick of print journalism and found an opportunity to move back into radio.
